Wind, Dirt and Grain
Accustomed to mountains at my back I find 360 degrees of dirt horizon unsettling. Feeling isolated and exposed only the ploughed earth by my boots, tiny fences, wheat stores and sheds in the distance remind me that this isn’t the nothing in-between small towns. This is somebody’s backyard.
Common Heritage
On the 10th of October 1967 a treaty was entered into force that has become known as the "outer space peace treaty". Aside from agreement not to militarise space, this treaty contains some interesting ideas about sovereignty through occupation and suggests that celestial bodies are the "common heritage of mankind".
